Making Outdoor Heaters Actually Work (and Smart, Too)
Running a nightclub patio is a bit of a nightmare when the weather turns. You need heat that can handle a downpour and high humidity, but you don’t want your staff running around flipping a dozen different switches every time the temperature drops. We handle this by using waterproof infrared heaters and hooking them up to a smart hub. It just makes life easier.
Why Infrared?
Most heaters try to warm up the air. But if you’re outdoors and the wind is blowing, that warm air is gone in seconds. It’s a waste of money. Infrared is different. It beams heat directly onto people and furniture. It feels like sitting in the sun. We use quartz elements because they’re incredibly fast. You don’t have to wait around for something to warm up—it’s instant.
Getting the “Smart” Part Right
Nobody wants to hunt for a manual switch in the dark. To fix that, we wire everything through smart controllers. You can set it up so the heaters just… happen. For example, you can put a sensor outside that tells the system, “Hey, it’s 10°C out here, turn the heat on.” It’s one less thing for your team to worry about. You just set the rules and let the tech do the heavy lifting.
The Stuff People Forget
Here is the catch: these things pull a massive amount of power. If you’re putting in ten 2000W units, you’re dealing with a 20kW load. You can’t just plug these into a wall outlet and hope for the best. If your wiring is too thin, the voltage drops, and your heaters won’t actually get hot. You’ve got to make sure your electrical panel can handle the surge. And while the heaters themselves are built to take a beating in the rain, the “brains” of the operation—the smart controllers—need to stay dry. We keep those tucked away in a protected box inside the building. Simple, but it saves you from a very expensive short circuit.
