We use a tungsten filament inside a quartz envelope that hits its operating temperature in a fraction of a second. Because it’s shortwave, the heat doesn’t just stop at the surface—it sinks in. Plus, the heat bounces off your bathroom tiles and mirrors, creating a little “bubble” of warmth around you. No waiting. No drafting. Just heat. The nitty-gritty on the gear Most of our lamps use halogen-filled quartz tubes. The halogen does a specific job: it stops the tungsten from gunking up the inside of the glass. This keeps the tube clear and ensures the heat doesn’t drop off as the lamp gets older. For the folks managing these buildings, we use R7s or similar snap-in connectors. It makes replacing them a breeze. But look, there’s a catch. These tubes getinsanely hot. You can’t just throw them in any box. You need reflectors that can take the heat and brackets that won’t warp after a few weeks of use. If you don’t vent the housing properly, you’re just going to burn out the filament early. Getting that luxury feel When we’re designing for high-end spaces, it’s all about the balance. You want to kill the chill of a marble floor without creating “hot spots” that feel uncomfortable. We put these on their own dedicated circuit to handle the initial power surge. Then, when you flip that switch? Everything happens at once. No humming, no lagging. Just immediate, cozy warmth.
