Technical Deep-Dive
Here’s the practical stuff. These heaters run on 230V or 400V, with power up to 2500W. That means you can match the power to what your building already has, and to the job at hand. The tubes come in 300mm or 600mm lengths, so you get control over how wide the heat spreads and how big the heated area is. More power packed into a shorter tube means higher power density, sure. But it also means the wiring and control gear have to be tough enough for the current and the heat around them.
Material & Design
Inside, the halogen elements sit in a quartz envelope. This keeps the output steady and stops the brightness from fading fast. The reflector has a hard-fired, high-reflectivity coating that pushes infrared energy straight forward, so you don’t lose heat to the sides. And the R7s base? It’s just a solid, straightforward connector. You wire the tube in-line quickly and slip it into a compact reflector housing. It’s a drop-in fit for most standard fixtures.
Application & Benefits
You’ll see these heaters at workstations, along curing lines, and at drying stations. Infrared heats objects directly, so things warm up fast and you waste less energy compared to convection. That said, the heat is intense. You do need proper airflow and shielding around the unit. Plan for cooling and keep heat-sensitive parts separated, and this thing will keep running without burning out.
